Obituary

Robert G. Gaffney, 55, died Wednesday, August 23, 2017, after suffering from a stroke. Born in Boston, he was raised and educated in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1979. He was a resident of Easton for the past 15 years. Mr. Gaffney worked for Bosse Construction in Easton for many years. He was a member of Teamsters Local 653 and the Knights of Columbus in Easton. Rob loved his work and was a gifted handyman and carpenter. In his free time, he enjoyed playing hockey and watching sports.

Mr. Gaffney is survived by his two daughters; Melissa L. Gaffney of Weymouth and Courtney Klock of FL. He was the longtime companion of Maura Palm of Easton and is survived by Maura's daughters Victoria and Elizabeth Palm and her granddaughters Leanna and Adriana Palm. Rob was the son of the late Francis J. Gaffney and Jeanne M. (Hemphill) Parenteau. He was the brother of John F. "Jack" Gaffney of RI, Jill M. Forman and Christine Campilio both of Mansfield, Patricia L. DeCosta of NH, Michael E. Gaffney of Easton, Joseph F. Gaffney of Stoughton and the late Susan Gaffney. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Rob's Life will be held in the Knights of Columbus, 375 Foundry St., (Rte 106), Easton on Friday, September 8, starting at 7 PM. Donations in Rob's memory may be made to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation, 72 River Park St #202, Needham, MA 02494.
