Tribute & Message From The Family

Message From The Family

Thank you for your support during this difficult time. Please enhance this tribute to Patricia by adding your memories and photos.

Patricia Mary (McKinnon) Durgin, 68, of Sharon passed away peacefully at the South Shore Hospital on Friday July 26th 2019 after a period of failing health. Patricia was the loving wife for 43 years of the late Thomas Paul Durgin. Patti was born in Boston and attended Sharon High School and Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School. She proudly worked as a Dental Assistant for Henry J. Markowitz, DMD in Sharon for over 40 years. A resident of Sharon most of her life, Patti was someone that found a friend in most people she met. She was always graciously giving her time and love to those that needed it. An honored supporter of the Sharon VFW, she was known as someone to have in your corner. In typical fashion, always looking for the happy ending, she enjoyed watching the Hallmark Channel. Patti was known for her sunny disposition and got the most joy by spending time with her family and her friends.

Patricia is survived by her children: Michelle "Micki" Durgin Walsh and her husband Damien of Medford and Thomas W. Durgin of Sharon. Patti was predeceased by her parents Michael F. McKinnon, Sr. and Dorothy (Malcolm) of Boston. She was the sister of Denise Anthony of Attleboro, Dorothy Petroni and her husband Richard of Walpole, Kevin McKinnon and his wife Susan of Foxborough, and the late Michael F. McKinnon, Jr., Francis X. McKinnon, Gerald C. McKinnon, Ann-Marie Neault, Lorraine DeFelice and Robert McKinnon. She was the sister in law of Barbara McKinnon of IA, Gene Neault of Sharon, Ed DeFelice of Stoughton and Carol McKinnon of West Bridgewater. Patti is survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27), Stoughton on Thursday, August 1 at 9AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows, Sharon at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday July 31 from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Rock Ridge Cemetery, Sharon, MA. Donations in Patricia's memory may be made to the New England Center and Home for Veterans, 17 Court St, Boston, MA 02108.

Very sorry for your loss. My mom would always tell me that Patty knew everyone in Sharon. I saw this to be true time and time again. I would run into Patty frequently at Sharon Credit Union. She was always chatting outside of the bank and never to the same person. She truly did know so many .

Michelle and Tom one of the funnies things your mother and I did was changing tires on are cars. We could jack the car up and take the tire off and replace it. But we could never get the jack down so we would tell Michelle and Jason go in the house. Then Trish would get in the car put the car in drive, step on the gas the jack would come flying out.
