So sorry to hear of John's passing, a wonderful man who was a dear friend to my mom and dad and extended family. Every once in a while, seeing him at the Villa, would be a treat.
Rest In Peace - i am sure my mother has greeted you with open arms.

good friend who will be missed greatly, especially during trips to the Spa. I'll miss our many conversations about old westerns and tv shows.

To John's family,
John (in his early years he got the nickname "Porky" because of his build) and I grew up together and went through public schools together (Clapp School, Kimball School and E.A. Jones School) before he went off to Norfolk Aggie. We kind of lost touch a bit until after high school when we would meet after work in front of Nardozzi's Drug Store and chat and were in the National Guard together for a few years. Then I went off to UMass and we really lost touch, seeing each other by chance over much of the rest of the years. The last time we sat down together was at the Stoughton High Class of '56 reunion in 2006 and had a good long talk. We exchanged Christmas cards over these last few years and I was always glad to hear from him. John could be a funny guy, had a mind that was razor-sharp and was just good company. I was so sorry to hear of his passing.

John was a fantastic guy with a sharp mind and keen wit. He always had a grin on his face and he was always able to see the humor in situations. John was a stable at our family Christmas Eve gatherings for many years. He enjoyed being around people and always had a kind word for others. At Teradyne he was widely respected for his technical skills and was in high demand because he could fix all the systems. Truly a man who was to be admired. He will be missed by all his close friends. Rest in Peace John. - Brian VanLaarhoven
