Condolence & Memory Journal

Robert was my classmate at Xaverian from 1963-1967. He was a pleasant classmate.

I had Mr. Lordan for a teacher in 7th and 8th grade ('82-'84). A classmate just informed me about his passing. I am very sorry for your loss. What a great science teacher he was! While studying oceanography, our class did a message in a bottle experiment. In high school, I was surprised to be notified by Mr. Lordan that my letter had been found- in the Orkney Islands! A boy who lived on a farm (with "150 breeding ewes") was throwing stones into the sea and noticed my bottle in the sand. The form the boy filled out, faded from the sun, along with a letter from him were returned to Mr. Lordan, who forwarded them on to me. I can't believe the bottle made it that far! Rest in peace, Mr. Lordan.

I am shocked and saddened by this sad news. I often chatted with Bobby while seeing him on his Humarock walks. Such a peaceful and kind soul. Please accept my sincere condolences and prayers to Bobby and his family.

Humarock won't be the same without Bobby. This message is late I know and I feel bad that I didn't make the service but please accept my sincerest sympathy.

To the Lordan and Hay Families we send our sincerest condolences for your loss of beloved Bobby. Bobby was a great person and I have fond memories of times with him in Humarock over the years. Some of which were of Michael and I tending his boat (the old green Chris Craft inboard) off Humarock while Bobby was diving for lobsters. I can remember one dive outing where Bobby was a bit upset (a rare event) because we did not see him surface or hear his shouts and he had to swim back to the boat with a loaded lobster bag against the current. We agree that summers in Humarock will not be the same without Bobby.

Bud and I send our heartfelt sympathy to his wonderful family. So many memories of Helen and Bud......lots of laughs there!
Also, our sympathy goes to all his extended family who we love so much.
Last to Dan and Barb who meant the world to him and us.
Walking in Humarock and meeting Bob crossing the bridges will be sadly missed.
Love you all,
Buddy and Cathy
