To Rich Sementelli's family, on behalf of every Housing Cop that worked in the projects, we are all deeply saddened and hurt. Rich was a fantastic cop who made a difference for so many others. There is a special bond that develops when you depend on your partners each and every minute and he was one of the most dependable as each of his partners will and have attested. We are deeply saddened by your loss and our prayers are with Rich, his wife and kids, his family and his friends, may you find peace and may God Bless and hold each of you. Tom O'Loughlin

I do not know Lt. Sementelli but feel compelled to express my sincerest condolences for his loss to his family and friends. I saw flowers on my daughters gravesite that matches ones from flowers where he was laid to rest today and was touched-thank you. May he rest in eternal peace and may god grant peace to his family and friends that knew him. Thank you for your service, Sir.

I will always treasure my time down the Cape with the Boys. Me, Kevin, Sean, Al, Brian, Rich and a host of others - what a cast of characters - all crammed into that cottage. I remember always knowing when Rich showed up because I could hear the motorcycle. May the good Lord comfort you and the rest of your family now and until you see him again.

Dear Sementelli Family,
My deepest sympathies and condolences to you all!
I had the pleasure of working with Richard at Boston Housing many years ago, and remember him as a quiet, capable and genuinely nice young man, and faster than lightening. I was happy to see him join and move up in the State Police! May you be comforted in some way by knowing that Richard was a good man, and may your love and memories of him sustain you in the coming days!

Growing up with John, I knew Dick as someone we looked up to. A hard-working guy with strong values. Dick was someone we were proud to know. His demeanor was usually serious, but I always knew he'd crack a smile when I shared the latest escapades of his little brother. He'll be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Sementelli family during these most difficult of times. -Mark & Sabrina
