Thank you for your support during this difficult time. Please enhance this tribute to Samuel by adding your memories and photos.

Samuel M. "Sparky" MacLean, Jr., 90, a resident of Bourne, died peacefully at home on Sunday, June 28, 2020. He was the beloved husband of the late Viola M. (Pulsinelli) MacLean. Son of the late Samuel M. and Rhoda (Siteman) MacLean, he was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and raised and educated in Roxbury. Sparky was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army and a Veteran of the Korean War. He was a resident of Rockland, Avon and Abington before moving to Bourne 6 years ago. He was the manager of the Stoughton Social Club for 20 years before retiring at age 65. He was a member of the American Legion in Randolph and the Polish White Eagles in Brockton. Sparky enjoyed coin collecting, bird watching and watching the Bruins but his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a great prankster who enjoyed making people laugh.

Mr. MacLean was the father of William, Donna, Sandra and Catherine and grandfather of Ryan, Kristen, Michael, Nicholas, Lee, Amanda and Anthony. He was the great-grandfather of Jason, Zachary, Aubrey, Autumn, Wednesday, Aviana, Nova and Nolan. He was the brother of Malcolm, Howard, Russell, Richard, Alfred, Ethel, Connie, Virginia, Millie, Evelyn, Margaret and Anne and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, July 7 from 11:30 AM -12:30 PM followed by interment at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 2 PM. Masks and social distancing required at funeral home and cemetery. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Samuel's name may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, PO Box 37920, Boone, IA 50037-0920.

Uncle Junior was a vibrant man who always made me laugh when I was growing up. I had not seen him since my mother (Ethel) passed away, at which time I was able to see both your mother and him. I shall always remember them as such a happy couple. Our sincere condolences.
