Message From The Family

Thank you for your support during this difficult time. Please enhance this tribute to Marilyn by adding your memories and photos.

Marilyn D. (Hibler) Donahue, 64, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died unexpectedly at Brockton Hospital on Thursday, July 23, 2020. She was the wife of John F. Donahue, Jr. for 44 years. Daughter of the late John and Beverly (Foote) Hibler, she was born in Oakland, CA and raised in Pembroke. Marilyn was a graduate of Silver Lake Regional High School, Class of 1974. She was a resident of Stoughton since 1976 and a longtime winter resident of Kissimmee, FL. She was a manager of the call center for Bank of America, working in Cumberland, RI, Framingham and Needham. She enjoyed working in her yard, creating beautiful crafts, dining out and traveling the world with her husband but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Marilyn was the mother of the late Alicia M. Donahue. She was the sister of Alfred Hibler and his wife Cindy of Duxbury and Vermont, John P. Hibler, DO and his wife Kathy of Ohio and the late Michael Hibler. She was the sister-in-law of Patti Doherty and her husband Artie of Marstons Mills and James Donahue and his wife Margaret of Halifax. She treasured all of her nieces and nephews and loved her role as Auntie Mel.

Funeral Services private. Donations in Marilyn's name may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 161 N. Clark, Suite 3550, Chicago, IL 60601.

Condolence & Memory Journal

Sorry to hear about Marilyn. I don't how I came across this obit, but as a child my parents used to visit Marilyn's dad and family in Pembroke, I believe. Our dads were in the Navy together in CA, where I lived as a baby too. But I too grew up in Mass. Over the last 15 years I tried to find out about the Hiblers to no avail because I wasn't sure of the details. So sad. It would have been great to have met with her in our adult years. Condolences to the family. RIP

Marla was a beautiful soul who always put others before herself. I feel incredibly blessed that our journeys overlapped during this lifetime. I worked with Marla side by side for several years at Fleet and BOA and will always hold the laughter we shared in my heart. We leaned on each other during tough times and celebrated together during times of abundance. Marla was an amazing person and she touched many lives while on this earth. She will truly be missed by many.

Please accept my deepest apologies for such a devastating loss. She was the most sincere friend, mentor. At BOFA she was very approachable and was a good listener. She had a love for life and was devoted to family. I admired her so much. She is with the Lord. She is going to be missed.

John so sorry for the loss of Marla. I worked with her at Shawmut Needham many years ago, but would see her very occasionally in Avon at Michaels. Loved her smile and her spirit. My prayers for you and the family. Rest in peace Marla.

Marla was the most beautiful soul to have as a friend. Knowing her since 1998, my love for Marla grew with each passing year. Always smiling, always supportive, always interested in the other person rather than herself, even when she had more than her share of difficulties. My sincerest condolences to her family, especially her dear husband John, whom she never failed to talk about with me, and my wish that the memory of this wonderful woman will soon replace your grief.

My sincerest condolences to the Donohue family, especially you John. Marilyn was a wonderful addition to the Donohue family and cared deeply for you John, your wonderful Mother, and I know all her nieces and nephews were very special to her. She spoke of them often when I would see her around Stoughton.
