Thank you for your support during this difficult time. Please enhance this tribute to Rita by adding your memories and photos.

Rita V. (Lydon) Knight, 96, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at the Walpole Healthcare Center in Walpole. She was the wife of the late Harold W. Knight. Born in Cambridge, she was raised in Brighton and Jamaica Plain and was a graduate of Boston Schools. Mrs. Knight was a resident of Walpole since 1995 and previously was a longtime resident of West Roxbury. Rita dedicated her life to caring for her own children and grandchildren as well as all the other children she welcomed into her home. She was immensely proud of her family and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them.

Rita was the mother of Harold R. Knight and his wife Floreen, Robert J. Knight and Carol M. Knight and her husband Charles Miller, all of Walpole, Patricia A. Cuneo and her husband Christopher of PA and the late Charles F. Knight and his surviving wife Susan Knight of Walpole. She was the mother in law of Suzanne Knight of Walpole. She was the sister of the late John Lydon, Mary Guilmette, Joseph Lydon, Loretta Thompson and Francis Lydon. Rita was the cherished "Nan" of Jocelyn Sullivan, Jennifer Krohn, Lukas, Dillon, Trevor, Zachary and Olivia Knight and Corey and Tyler Cuneo. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Declan and Owen Sullivan and Charlotte Krohn.

Due to Covid 19 Restrictions, a Private Funeral Mass will be held in Blessed Sacrament Church. Visiting Hours omitted. Donations in Rita's memory may be made in honor of her late son Charlie to the National Brain Tumor Society, 55 Chapel St., Suite 200, Newton, MA 02458 (www.braintumor.org).

To the Knight Family: We are saddened by the loss of your wonderful Mother. She was like a second Mom to so many of us growing up on Vogel Street. She watched out for us and always welcomed us into her home with a huge smile. Thinking of all of you❤ Chris & Maureen (Rene Munzert) Carbone

To the Knight family: We are so sorry to hear of Rita's passing, our thoughts and prayers are with you. We so loved being her neighbor and getting leftovers from Monday night dinners! She was another nan to our girls and she never missed one of their birthday parties! Thank you for including us as your neighborhood family! We will always cherish the memories.

With deepest sympathy to the entire Knight family. Your mom/nan was a kind, warm and welcoming lady. When you grew up on Vogel street, Mrs Knight was your "second mom." "What are you doing Billy? ". Where is your Sister Billy?" If you do that again, I'm going to have to tell your mother Billy". "Want something to eat Billy?" Kind, welcoming and the unofficial mayor if Vogel Street, she knew everyone and everything going on. With a wonderful laugh and a contagious smile, everyone knew and loved Mrs Knight. In sympathy and love, rest-in-peace, Billy & Lee-Ann Munzert

Mom words would never be able to say how much you were loved. You always were there for us through good times and bad. There is a person you wouldn't help. You were the best mother, Nan, friend and neighbor. You were sooo strong but it was your time to rest. So happy you get to see Charlie again. Until we meet again I will miss you every day and think of you always❤
