Tribute & Message From The Family

Message From The Family

Thank you for your support during this difficult time. Please enhance this tribute to Steve by adding your memories and photos.

Stephen J. Storm, 62, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 29, surrounded by his loving family who meant the world to him. He was the loving and devoted husband of Mary A. (Gillespie) Storm for 29 years.

Steve was many things to many people. He was an accomplished carpenter, an avid golfer, a coach, a caring friend, a wonderful husband, dad, and papa. He appreciated the simple joys in life - spending time with family, shooting under par, sitting around a nice fire at the campground, and the company of good friends.

Steve will be dearly missed by his friends and co-workers at Payne Bouchier Fine Builders in Boston, where he worked as a master carpenter for over 25 years. Steve put 100% into whatever job he took on, including that of coach, first to his children, then his grandchildren, and hundreds of other lucky boys and girls who had the good fortune to be on his team. He spent many happy hours on the Braintree Municipal Golf Course with friends, fishing with his father and sons at Hull Gut, and camping at Maple Park in Wareham, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family, who adored him.

In addition to his wife Mary, Steve is survived by his children, Stephen M. Clarke and his wife Jennifer of Easton, Richard J. Clarke and his wife Amy of East Greenwich, RI and Renee M. Monaghan and her husband Michael of Stoughton. He was the loving "Papa" to Abigail, Sarah, David, Emily, Julia, Kayla, Alyssa, Norah, and Finn. He is also survived by his mother Joan Storm of Stoughton, predeceased by his father Robert E. Storm, brother James Storm of Houston, TX, his sisters; Carol Dognazzi of Amesbury, Susan Gair and Diane McGrath both of Stoughton and Therese Barry of Quincy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, October 5 from 4-7 PM. Masks and social distancing required. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, a Funeral Mass will be private.

He will be sadly missed and forever loved by all who knew him.

Contributions in memory of Steve may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Although I did not know Stephen Storm, I can tell by reading this tribute he was a beloved and very special family man, friend and employee. So sad to hear about the passing of Steve. I'd often run into him around town, especially the ball fields, and our conversation always led to our families, sports, & coaching. I had the privilege of coaching his daughter Renee and Steve & Mary would never miss a game. We'd often share coaching skills and what we could teach the kids to make them better players. Steve was always smiling and upbeat. He'll be missed by many, but forgotten by none! Steve, Rest in Peace my friend. Love, Jim Moran
