Tribute & Message From The Family

James A. Di Corpo, Jr., a resident of Mansfield, MA since 1993, passed away peacefully at the Stanley R. Tippett Hospice Home in Needham on Friday, October 16, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He was 57. Mr. Di Corpo was the loving husband of nearly 30 years to Lynn M. (Michaud) Di Corpo. Born in Stoughton on April 15, 1963, James was the loving son of the late James and Shirley (Sweet) Di Corpo. He was raised and educated in Stoughton and graduated from Cardinal Spellman High School in 1981. James also graduated from the Boston College School of Arts and Sciences in 1985 with dual degrees in theology and philosophy; he earned an M.B.A. from the B.C. Carroll School of Management in 1991. He worked in finance for many years at Fidelity, Harvard Pilgrim, Prudential and most recently as the Assistant Vice President of Market Insight for Lincoln Financial, based in Hartford, CT.

James was an active member of the St. Mary's Knights of Columbus and a longtime parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Mansfield, where he also served as a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the finance council. In his spare time, he was an avid reader who enjoyed medical mystery novels and religious books; he was a collector of fossils and meteorites. James had a lifelong devotion to Catholic saints, which he shared with the community through his collection of relics. He enjoyed the music of Bono and Prince, with both of whom he spoke. Above all, James loved spending time with his family, especially with his loving children, Ryan N. Di Corpo of New York and Erica N. Di Corpo of Mansfield. James is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jim was a good man, a good father, and a good husband taken far too soon. We are so sorry Lynn, Ryan and Erica. We were married in the same year and had kids in the same year, our hearts are breaking for you.

I am so sorry for your loss. Jim and I were friends when we were kids. I have fond memories of our time together in Mrs. Jay's 2nd grade class in South School, and in our neighborhood, Sumner Gardens. Jim was a very kind person. My condolences to the family.

My sincerest condolences to Jim's family. Although I had not been in contact with Jim since Spellman, I still recall his sharp wit and keen sense of humor that helped us through chemistry lab and long hours of set construction working on the annual musicals at Spellman. It's a rare person who has that lasting impact on his fellow man. I know he will be missed.

Although Jim was 4 years older and lived right up the street he was a quiet gentleman who was kind hearted to all of us in our younger days. The last game of the season for the Bruins in 1986 against the Vancouver Canucks with Cam Neely as a rookie he gave Bunny four tickets. Me Benny and my brother went to the game and had a great time. Its the little things in life you remember about people that stick with you for a lifetime and feel a sense of loss and sadness when they pass away. I alos remember when he was the altar boy at Our Lady of the Rosary and the chapel at the Cushing hospital. Thoughts and prayers for Jim and especially his family at this sad time.
My sincere Condolences

It was a privilege to have spent time with Jim and Lynn. His time on earth was far too short, and we feel lucky for the gift of having known him.
