Please enhance this tribute to Alan by adding your memories and photos.
Alan W. Anderson, 74, died unexpectedly, December 6, 2020, at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, after being stricken ill at his home in Tenants Harbor, ME. Born in Boston, he was raised and educated in Dedham and Hyde Park and was a graduate of Hyde Park High School. In 1997, he married Ellen Sullivan after a long courtship and they spent many years living in Dedham. In 2015, they moved to Stoughton to be closer to family. Alan worked for General Motors in Westwood as the United Auto Workers Union Chairman for many years, retiring at age 55. Alan and Ellen have owned a home in Tenants Harbor, ME for the last 10 years and he enjoyed spending time at Marshall Point Lighthouse while he was there. He was a gifted handyman and carpenter who excelled in building and designing projects, both big and small. Alan was an art lover and enjoyed listening to jazz, blues and classical music. He was a fan of all of the Boston Sports teams, but his passion for over 20 years was spending time with his beloved grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Ellen Sullivan-Anderson, he is survived by his children, Alan W. Anderson, Jr. and his wife Linda of CA, Kellie M. Lamb and her husband John of Stoughton and Tara L. Anderson of Foxboro. He was the loving Papa of Ryan Lamb, Zachary Anderson, Cassie Lamb and Aria Anderson. He was the brother of Ralph Anderson and his wife Karen of Lynn, Bruce Anderson of Bellingham and the late Karen Lynch and Kristine Anderson. We were co-workers for thirty years and friends for over fifty. We had two favorite past times. Arguing ideas and politics, and trying to stick one another with a restaurant bill. Al I will miss you more than I have words to say. So for now it's see ya in a while. And I'll play the B G's Stayin Alive to aggravate you one last time!! Love You, Friends Forever, Ed
