Obituary

Alvina L. (Lucio) Garcia, 93, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Care One in Randolph on Thursday, December 12, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Ernesto V. Garcia. Daughter of the late Jose and Emilia (Castelo) Lucio, she was born and raised in Flores, Azores, Portugal. She moved to Stoughton in 1981. Alvina was a homemaker and also cared for children for many years. She loved to pray and was a longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. She also enjoyed crocheting but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Mrs. Garcia is survived by her children, Natividade Silva of Lisbon, Portugal, Teodoro Garcia of the Azores, Portugal and Noemia Medeiros, Helio Garcia and Nelson Garcia all of Stoughton, as well as her grandchildren, John Silva, Paul Medeiros and Bela Collins. She was the great-grandmother of Megan Silva, Jacqueline Silva, Paul Medeiros, Jr., Madison Collins, Mitchell Collins and Gabriel Collins. She was the sister of the late Jose Lucio and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Saturday, December 14 from 9-10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
